I don't know about all of you, but one of my favorite things to get for Christmas is books. As a kid, nothing excited me more, and even now my wishlist is pretty much all books. (And an electronic thing or two, too, because I'm a geek like that :) Anyhow, as I go about shopping for my many, many nieces and nephews (10 and counting), I usually try to find books to give to as many of them as possible. I'm sure they probably wonder why my husband and I always seem to give gifts as books, and sometimes I worry that they're really thinking our gifts are the equivalent of this:

As someone who has received her fair share of socks, tights, and other miscellany over the years, I can safely say I've worn that same expression a few times (in private, generally--I do try to fake some enthusiasm for relative's sake).
So, as I make my mad dash to finish my shopping this year (just 5 more people!), I'm hoping to stop by the local bookstore. Now, if I could just come up with the perfect gift for my husband....
