A Comment Question
Now, here's my question: is there any way to get blogger to allow for nested comments? I have searched with no luck. In livejournal and wordpress I've noticed this trait and rather like the ability to respond to individual comments. (People have said neat things--I want to be able to respond individually!) Anyone know if this is even possible in blogger?
Also, I've followed a whole bunch of new and awesome blogs. I've been reading and commenting and totally loving it! I'm also trying to get ready for vacation, too, so my ability to do this is a little limited at the moment, just fyi! (It's my first vacation in like 6 years, I'm stoked!)
Now, something I found funny:
ETA: I found a new widget for blogger to try some new types of comments, including threading. We'll see how it goes. It looks good, but that doesn't always mean it's going to actually work out... *fingers crossed!*

If the people commenting have email addresses attached to their profile, you can email them directly, which I do, but not everyone does this. Glad you are enjoying the comments.

ReplyDeleteI deleted my answer because I misread your question. No, you have to get an extra plugin or enhanced system like Disqus for threaded comments in Blogger. Although I'm not using Blogger, I have a similar issue on mine. I tend to address the person by name so it's clear that I'm responding to a certain comment.
ReplyDelete@Miranda--that's a good idea! If I can't work out this new comment system I've installed, I'll give it a shot! Thanks for the idea!
ReplyDelete@Brinda--Thanks a million for the ideas! I've tried a new widget, which I hope works :) Appreciate your input!!
I do both (what Miranda and Brinda said). If the person has email enabled, I respond directly to them (because then we can have a nice conversation), otherwise I use the @nicecommenter to track who I'm responding to. Sometimes I use all public @comments if it's better to have my responses all be public (like an ongoing debate in the comments section). Does that make any sense?? :)
