A few weeks ago I wrote a review for The Chemist, which I found to be a super fun and gripping read. You can check out my review here. Basically, if you enjoy a fast-paced spy novel, with all kinds of twists and turns, along with a delightfully kick-butt female lead, this one's for you :) Seriously, people, this one was great!
Anyhow, so the paperback version releases tomorrow (Tuesday, July 11th), and I received an email from the publicist for the book, asking if I wanted to offer a couple of copies to my reader. Uhhh, duh! I know I have some regular readers who'll love this book.
I'm making this one easy: just leave a comment below about a book you've enjoyed recently (yay for summer reading!) and be sure to note that you entered in the rafflecopter! There are a few other ways to enter, too, if you want. That's it! *Please note the books can only be shipped to US and Canadian addresses!*
In this gripping page-turner, an ex-agent on the run from her former employers must take one more case to clear her name and save her life.
She used to work for the U.S. government, but very few people ever knew that. An expert in her field, she was one of the darkest secrets of an agency so clandestine it doesn’t even have a name. And when they decided she was a liability, they came for her without warning.
Now, she rarely stays in the same place or uses the same name for long. They’ve killed the only other person she trusted, but something she knows still poses a threat. They want her dead, and soon.
When her former handler offers her a way out, she realizes it’s her only chance to erase the giant target on her back. But it means taking one last job for her ex-employers. To her horror, the information she acquires only makes her situation more dangerous.Resolving to meet the threat head-on, she prepares for the toughest fight of her life but finds herself falling for a man who can only complicate her likelihood of survival. As she sees her choices being rapidly whittled down, she must apply her unique talents in ways she never dreamed of. (Goodreads)

I'm curious to read reviews of this one. I'm not a fan of the Twilight series, but I think that's in large part due to me picturing the lifeless, expressionless actress who played Bella in the films while reading.
ReplyDeleteI really loved the Twilight series and I am looking forward to reading this book also. tore923@aol.com
ReplyDeleteHow neat! I read an excerpt of the beginning online, and found myself super intrigued. I recently just finished Vassa in the Night, and it was such a trippy ride! I think you might like it, Mer. =)
ReplyDeleteIt seems she's gone past the days of the Infernal Sparkly Vampire.
ReplyDeleteI just finished "Girl In Snow" by Danya Kuckafka (I have to look up how to spell that name every time I write it!) Anyway, it was an awesome book and I highly recommend it. You can read my review HERE.
ReplyDeleteI would love to read "The Chemist!" I know a lot of authors won't admit it, but I loved the Twilight series. I even loved "The Host" -- after I started over after reading a few chapters, anyway.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about this one, as I read that the main character is an adult, not a young adult.
I want to NOT like Stephanie Meyers books - professional jealousy and all, but you know I've enjoyed all but one. So, heck. I'm in. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteVampires, Burial and Death by Paul Barber! I would love to read something for fun!
ReplyDeleteI recently read Anna Karenina for the first time. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought it was. It was like a soap opera of its time to me.
