Okay, so I don't have much else today so I'm going to post another little promos :)
And for those who asked last time, I tend to make these with powerpoint. I've done it with other programs, but I am the most familiar with powerpoint so I find it to be the most intuitive. I'm sure I could make prettier ones with another program...maybe someday I'll have time to play around. Also, I'm seriously not a graphic designer, can you tell? LOL!
This is actually my photo from a hike I did near the area where Surrender is set. I was imagining this spot while writing several of the scenes :) |
SYNOPSIS
“You've owned me from the moment I walked into that music room. You've wrapped yourself in my heart and mind. I can’t get you out. I don’t want to.” ~ Rafael Van Rees
Sophie Fisher’s life is on fire. If she’s not ducking around corners or slipping out of windows to escape the debt collectors her father's death has left knocking on her door, she’s dealing with her rebellious, fifteen-year-old sister, Lilli. And, as if that’s not enough, Rafael Van Rees crashes into her life—literally—bringing with him a past the public has no idea of. Can she unravel his mysteries before he unravels her, or will his presence finally force her to face the demons she's trying to outrun?
Rafael Van Rees prides himself on being in control of his destiny, music and women. As far as he is concerned, his past is a black cloud in the distance--until he meets Sophie, that is, and his world spins out of control in more ways than one. He knows the darkest sins and secrets eventually reveal themselves, but when it comes to Sophie, he'll stop at nothing to protect her from his past. Even if it kills him.

DeleteIt's a good powerpoint job. I've done that before, but it's been a long while, and most of the steps I've forgotten.
ReplyDeleteCecilia's cover looks quite striking!
I find myself forgetting certain parts of it at times, but most of it comes back when I start playing with the program.
DeleteI want to move there! Great teaser, Meradeth.
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats, Cecilia, on your new cover. Love it!
I love that area! So, so pretty :)
DeleteWhat a great promo/teaser! I love the background- what an amazing hike that must have been. I can see why you were imagining that area while you were writing. :)

ReplyDeleteIt is an amazing place for a hike! Love it up there.
DeleteMeradeth, I love how you incorporate your own photography into your graphic teasers. That's what makes them so special!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Love Cecilia's new cover - very Christian Grey :-)
Haha, it's because they're free :)
DeleteLove the promo!! And I'm totally intrigued by the 'wings' reference. Wings?? What kind of wings?? More please!! :) My only critique is that the white writing can be a little hard to read when the background gets light, too. Otherwise, I love it.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Cecilia!
Oh, there are more wings in the book for sure! :) And I know--those dang white parts! So hard to get white text to show up right. I messed around with it for ages!
DeleteGreat teaser and I can see why she can't keep her cool.
ReplyDeleteWonderful cover. Congrats to Cecilia.
