I really, really must rave about this book. I've read a lot of stuff that I meant to blog about, but this one I'm going to actually do it (instead of putting it off like just about everything else in my life :). Anyhow, with lots of begging and otherwise twisting-of-arms, I managed to get my hot little hands on a ARC of CATCHING FIRE, the second in Suzanne Collins' The Hunger Games trilogy. It was so totally worth every moment of begging and pleading! Despite some of the things I've read, I thought it pulled its weight nicely. It doesn't have the same tight plot-line as the first book, as there is a lot more ground to cover, but the characters and story wrap it all together well. Collins' is really setting something up for book three that is going to Rock. Plus, there's Peeta. I love him. Yeah, yeah, Gale's cool too, but lets be honest here--Peeta just is too nice, too wonderful. If Collins kills him off in the next book, trust me, I'm going to have to, oh I don't know, but it will involve throwing a few books and maybe some sad tweets.
In sum, if you can read this book, do! If you haven't read The Hunger Games #1, so go do it :-)
That wasn't spoiler-y at all, now, was it? :-)
(And in other news, we're moving this Saturday, which means my house is in total disarray and all my books are packed up. Naked shelves kinda creep me out, ya know? The other crazy thing was how many boxes of books we actually ended up with. Holy crap it was a lot! Too many, really, as it took up almost all of our boxes. Bleh, I hate moving!)
