(Brief note, if you're stopping by today for the awesome blogfest, I'm also holding the last day of my blog tour with giveaways and such: stop by if you feel so inclined :)
Major thanks to Elise and DL Hammons for this awesome idea for a blog fest! I'm sorry my entry is a little late: meant to get this posted this morning... Anyhow, here's my entry for the WIP-that-would-not-end:
Title: An Absence of Light
Word Count: 80k (it's finished, in the sense that I'm no longer drafting, not so much in the I-may-never-revise-this-thing-into-something-sell-able)
Genre: Upper YA/NA Sci-Fi, light on the science
How Long I've been working on this: Can I just say, way too long? :)
Elevator Pitch: Fleeing with bloody hands and a stolen BMW, Leah must escape charges for a murder committed by shadow creatures only she can see. One thing will get her to stop running: making sure they don’t kill again.
Synopsis: Leah has spent her whole life trying to figure out why she alone
can see the shadows and how they influence humans to commit rape, murder, and
other horrible crimes. Penniless and running from the cops, she stumbles onto a
small group of people who can also see the shadows and have learned how to kill
them. When they offer her shelter, she jumps at the chance to fight back
against the creatures. The hot shadow-hunter, Adam, makes the opportunity even
sweeter. Together the group pieces together that the shadows are from another
world and are just beginning their invasion. In order to stop them Leah will
have to risk her life, and the lives of the hunters, to keep the world from
being lost to darkness.
This has been through several awesome CP's and Betas, but I'd love another set of eyes if you're feeling up to it. I'm always happy to swap!
