I thought that I'd get a whole lot of writing in over my holiday break, but thus far I've pretty much only opened the file and read a couple of pages back to get myself caught up to speed. And...then no words. It's amazing how things come up. And I really don't have any legit excuses right now! What I'd really like is a few days where I can lock myself away, preferably somewhere warm, and just forget the outside world and WRITE. It's been so long since I got to do that. Really, one of the fabulous writing retreats I see online sounds pretty much ideal right now. A few days away from the world, with all the time in the world to focus on words? Sounds like heaven!
So, who has gone on a retreat? Any recommendations? Thoughts? Let's hear it! :)
My completely non-legit excuse for not writing. Family vacation :) Which amazing and wonderful and not writing. |
Me too, I am nowhere consistent. Maybe one day! ;) And what is that tree doing in the sand? It's missing an umbrella, lol!
ReplyDeleteWell I would say a family vacation is justifiable as an excuse for not writing!
ReplyDeleteOh! ME! I want to go on a writing retreat. But I think I'd have to go somewhere alone because if I went with other writer friends... I don't think we'd get a lot done. LOL!

I see other people doing it but I don't know if I'd be able to concentrate in a group setting like that. Although watching them party at night with margaritas certainly seems fun!
ReplyDeleteI went to the Big Sur Writers Retreat (in California) a couple years ago and loved my experience there. :) Got to sit 1:1 with agents and other experienced writers. It was a great get-away and definitely recommend!
ReplyDeleteI love the premise of your new book! Can't wait to hear more!!
I'd love to go on a writing retreat. I would only go with people whom I'm comfortable with so we can socialize when not writing and receive support when we are.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could go on a writing retreat and forget all about normal chores for a week or maybe two weeks!
ReplyDeleteLove the premise of your book. I think a gathering of like-minded people would be very useful!
ReplyDeleteHaven't been to a writing retreat yet. Sounds awesome.
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to do a writing retreat, but alas it hasn't happened. I'm on a bit of a writing break right now while I wrap my head around my next book. I need a lot of thinking time before I can figure a story out enough to really sink my teeth into it. I hope you get back to it soon.
