I have another author treat today! A fellow MuseItUp author, Lauren Boyd, whose book BAKING LOVE sounds very sweet :) Be sure to check out the GIVEAWAY below!
Three years ago, Kate Sullivan fell in love with her best friend, Eric Wagner. Before she could tell him, he abruptly ended their friendship.
Now Eric has walked into Kate’s bakery and back into her life—but why? Is he here to confess his love for her?
No. He’s here to order his groom’s cake. He’s getting married…to another woman.
(Q) What is your favorite part of the writing process?
(A) It’s a tie between writing and editing. I enjoy the creativity
that comes with writing. It’s especially satisfying to “crack” a part of the
story that’s been giving me trouble. I’ve always enjoyed editing, too, so when
I don’t feel my creative juices flowing, I switch over and edit the material I’ve
written thus far.
(Q)
What was your favorite chapter to write in Baking Love?
(A)
That would be Chapter Eight, when the main characters go bowling. It was fun to
write the banter amongst them and further the sexual tension between Kate and
Eric.
(Q) If you could meet any writer, living or dead, and pick their
brain over coffee/tea/hot-chocolate, who would it be? What would be your first
question?
(A) John Grisham. The Client was the first novel I
ever read, and I’ve loved everything I’ve read by Grisham since then. I like
how his novels usually have a twist or surprise near the end. I’d ask him how,
after all this time, he still manages to come up with such captivating plot
lines.
Lauren Boyd writes romance that entertains and provides
escape from daily life—and sometimes, you might just learn a thing or two.

My pleasure! Off to spread the word now :)
DeleteThanks! Same here!
DeleteWhew, sounds like a great romantic read, Lauren. I bet it's fun too with the old flame about to get married. lol.
ReplyDeleteLet's see, I'm sort of a plain person, so I want a moist yellow cake with chocolate icing please.
Best wishes with the book.
Hey, Lorrie! Thanks for your comment! I actually had yellow cake with chocolate icing at a birthday party this past weekend, and it was delicious! So delicious, in fact, that I had two pieces! :) I love that kind, too.
DeleteThanks again!
Ugh, that one hit me right in the gut. Poor Kate has to make his wedding cake? I feel for the girl, I do.
ReplyDeleteHey, Faith! Thanks for your comment! Yes, it is an unfortunate situation for Kate--but it was fun to write, HAHA! :)
DeleteThanks again!
Sounds like a fun book...and cake, who doesn't love cake? Let's see, I always get a cannoli cake from a local bakery for my b-day. It's divine!
ReplyDeleteHi, Katie! Wow, cannoli cake sounds delicious! I'm sorry to say I've never had it, although I have had cannoli and loved it! In fact, if cannoli cake is anything like it, I'd ask a baker to make that for me, too! :)
DeleteThanks for stopping by! It's great to meet you!
How many gals do you know that can tell a similar story? I sure know some. Hoping for the win and a good read :)
ReplyDeleteHi! Thanks for commenting! I agree you with that, unfortunately, there are women out there in the same situation as Kate. Here's to a happy ending for all of them!
DeleteGreat to meet you!
Hi! If you could drop me an email at laurenfboyd (at) gmail (dot) com, that'd be great! Thank you!

ReplyDeleteI love white cake with white frosting. I know- boring. But- it has been my favorite for forever. :) Thanks for the giveway!
~Jess
Not boring at all--sounds delish to me!
DeleteHi! Thanks for commenting! White cake with white frosting is delicious - no shame (or boredom) in that game! In fact, that's what kind of wedding cake I had. Good call!
DeleteGreat to meet you!
Sounds like a terrific book! If I don't win it, I reckon I'm gonna have to BUY it.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of cake do I want? A BIG one! Not the answer you were looking for, huh? Okay, then, how a German chocolate one? (But I don't believe I've ever met a cake I didn't like...)
I think you'll make an author some serious kinds of happy if you do! :)
DeleteHey, Susan! Great to meet you! I hope you love BAKING LOVE, however you come into ownership of it! :)
DeleteA BIG cake is the best - good answer! German chocolate is popular in my family, so you're in good company with your choice!
Thanks for stopping by!
Thank you!!! Once again, I'm some kinda lucky duck! (I'll email you right away, Lauren.)
DeleteHey, Susan! Thanks again for your excitement! I hope you love BAKING LOVE! :)
