Due to the fact that my car is now a mound of metal, DH and I have been on the hunt for a new car. After quickly realizing that every dealer has a load of cars they are more than happy to unload on you, for at least several thousand more than we want to pay, we turned to the internet. And of course, that means craigslist. Can I just say that this has provided hours of entertainment for us both? Mainly because I've come to not only the conclusion that there are WAY too many beater cars out there, but the general populace has no idea how to spell, construct a sentence, or just generally write in English. Okay, maybe I'm being too harsh, and honestly, I can't spell without spell-check, but it's been amusing. Personal fav: "seat wormers." Quite frankly I don't want to know what those do, nor do I ever want to sit on one! And absolutely nothing can top the awesomeness of the white hearse that was for sale in my hometown. It has New Tires! I fell out of my chair laughing at that one, and apparently my mom knows who's selling it. Gotta love Woodland.
So, here's what I'm thinking: if I were sixteen again, and on the hunt for my first car, this is probably where I'd be turning. As a teen, what would I be looking for? Would I be looking at those two-hundred dollar beaters? They "Run Graet!" Or would I be saving up for the super nice Audi that we're test-driving today (and I'm drooling over. It's red, with leather, and a sun roof, and it's is adorable, and I want it!). Driving and cars have always had at least a small part in my stories, and this has certainly gotten me thinking about some good background information, at least. There's definitely a story in this :) And if that white hearse shows up sometime, well, you will know where it came from!
