I swore I was going to be better about posting about books this year, so I'm going to get started. I've only managed to read one book so far this year (I think. There might have been another, but I've managed to forget. That's kind of scary.) Anyhow, I finished A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray, yesterday. And all I can say is holy cow. Talk about fun, and funny, and thought provoking, and just a plain good read. I can't wait to get my hands on Rebel Angels pronto! Also, I keep hearing all these awesome things about Going Bovine, and I'm not sure if I should just buy it, or do my normal library-and-if-I-can't-live-without-it-then-buy-it thing that I've been doing lately. Because, well, they don't pay grad students enough. Anyhoot, I may just plunk down for it.
Anyhow, my favorite line from the book? "I fear I will always have to chase the things I want. I'll always have to wonder whether I'm truly wanted or whether I've just been settled for." Reading it again makes me want to cry all over again. Honestly, I'm 27, married, the whole nine yards, and I still feel like this! Yeah, good line, good book.
I'm currently in the middle of Coffeehouse Angel and kinda liking it. Hopefully it gets better, because I think the premise is super fun.
