- BRRR! Can we get a reprieve from the winter? I mean, seriously? Also, did we have to go from the pleasant 50's, to negatives in less than a day? Because that was some seriously cruelty, Mother Nature.
- I've had some awesome work news these past few weeks, both in new projects to work on (yay for dead people! Yeah, I know, that's so wrong, but I need their DNA!), and some potential tenure stuff that would make me so relieved! Fingers, toes, and eyes crossed.
- I'm still basking in the awesomeness of everyone who helped with out with the release of An Absence of Light. Seriously, you are all so amazing.
- The semester is almost over!!! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel (although, currently it looks more like pumpkin pie, but that's cool), and that makes me utterly joyous!
- This is going on, and spreading the word is TOTALLY encouraged:

I always complain that fall is just WAY too short. We go from 80 degrees to 30 degrees with just a couple of weeks of nice weather.
ReplyDeleteBut winter is a good thing!
ReplyDeleteI have always loved the winter. This is a good thing, because I live in Montreal, Canada. :) You have a very nice blog.
ReplyDeleteYup, it's turning chilly here. Though nothing like it is out there I'm sure! I broke out my finger-less gloves just yesterday. They're so cute b/c they have flaps that you can pull over your fingers to make mittens. They make me feel like a little kid again. =) I'm glad an Absence of Light is going well! And.... I just bought it, yay! I thought it was only on Amazon, which made me sad, as I don't have a Kindle, just a Nook. But I found it on B&N. Suh-weet.
ReplyDeleteGreetings human, Meradeth,
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing you were talking in Fahrenheit. Otherwise, your temperature reference to the fifties would have made it rather hot in the system I use.
Yes, I'm pawing this from tropical England. Last winter, we had no snow. Which means my work as Penny the snow plough or "plow" in American, was non existent.
Time to take out my human for a nice, warm middle of the morning stroll.
Pawsitive wishes,
Penny :)
I pretty much will be cold from now until April. Though all the cold and darkness is a good excuse to stay in and read or write. (I just started An Absence of Light today!)
ReplyDeleteThat is freezing. I wish some of that cool air would come to me. We had one brief cold front this fall.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to some time off soon.
Last week it was 66 here in NY! This weekend was in the 30s :( I love a good snow storm but if I had my way winters would be 50s/60s except for 3 blizzards spread out between dec-feb. I'd also want it to be warm two days after the blizzards so the snow would melt quickly! (I'm quite detailed!) But honestly after Hurricane Sandy I'm just so thankful to have heat that I don't mind the cold too much, as long as I can stay warm (8 days, no heat=no fun!)
ReplyDeleteI would be thrilled if winter was one or two months shorter. we could add the extra time to the other 3 months! :) It was 60 here yesterday and today- snow! I like a little snow- but the winter is really too long for me.
