And my blog tour kicks off today! Fun times! I've got a really awesome character interview going on here, and am sending massive thanks to Erin Rhew, Melissa Petresock, and Kelly Hashaway for their shout-out's today! Each has options to win, so check it out :)
So, yeah, today's post is going to be short, because let's be honest here: I've got WAY too much on my plate. I feel like it's Thanksgiving already and I've got so many awesome dishes passing me by and I just can't help myself when it comes to taking just a little bit more. But then my plate looks a little like a small mountain of food, haha! You all know what I'm taking about (right?). The trouble is everything that's going on is so awesome and it's been a blast, but wow, I'm feeling a little overwhelmed at times.
Between, revising a novel that I seriously want to spend all my time on (I'm in love with it, plain and simple), teaching a overly large course load (thanks, University of Montana, for paying me less than minimum wage to teach more than anyone else in my department--way to make a girl feel special), marketing, and job interviews, let alone the regular other stuff I do (run the writing group for the library, manage my grad students, force myself to get to the gym so I don't go officially crazy, and spend time with that husband person), I'm really, really looking forward to Thanksgiving break. Anyhow, one of these days I'll figure out how to manage it all--or just take a healthier portion size! Still, it's been fun overindulging in the goodness lately--I certainly can't complain about that!
How about you: ever felt like your plate is overly full? :)
And how about a really beautiful cover to round out this post? Tiffany Truitt's new book looks awesome!! Preorder: Amazon: Limitless Publishing
Life is good for LOGAN MIDDLETON.
He’s quarterback of the Shepherd High football team, nephew of the town’s most successful lawyer, and boyfriend of Jenna Maples, a girl who has finally agreed to take their relationship to the next level. But nothing good lasts forever.
With only a few minutes of last period English left between him and a weekend alone with Jenna, Logan blacks out. When he awakens, he finds himself in a future where Shepherd High lies in ruins, nothing is what it seems, and everyone he loves is dead.
Logan is a shifter.
Chosen to travel through time, it’s up to him to figure out how to stop the terrible events that claimed his once perfect life. Of course, all of this might be easier if he wasn’t paired with the one girl who’d rather see him dead than help him, JOSEPHINE.
A girl he tormented during childhood. Strong-willed with biting wit, who lives in the shadows. Tough and dark, Jo is Shepherd High’s most notorious outcast and Logan’s opposite in every way.
Together the two must overcome their many differences to figure out why they’ve been selected for such an overwhelming task, and who selected them in the first place.
Before it’s too late…
Tiffany's cover is gorgeous. And yes I ALWAYS feel like I've got way too much going on. But how amazing that you're so in love with your WIP. :) best feeling ever to want to tackle it, right?!
ReplyDeleteThe cover to Because You Exist is stunning.
ReplyDeleteI always feel overwhelmed, Meradeth. I have two genres to balance and sometimes, one suffers more than the other. Lately, I've been letting life's moments ease my stress by learning to relax and have downtime with the love of my life. We only live once and we can't let the anxiety of our author work take away from us enjoying the moment.
I love writing and I love spending time with kids during my author visits. But social media can be a real pain and I've learned we simply can't do it all!
I hope you find some balance. It sounds like you have a lot on your plate! Your students are lucky to have such a hard working and inspiring author teaching them.
You're doing GREAT with your blog tour. I'm seeing it everywhere. Congratulations!!! Release time is always so stressful, but it calms down soon enough. I think it's important to remember to enjoy it as much as you can!
ReplyDeleteI hear you!! Life is spilling over the time plate for sure! Eep!! Hang in there!! We'll manage it all somehow!
ReplyDeleteNever enough time Meradeth and that cover is striking!
ReplyDeleteNice cover, Tiff! Yesss, I have WAYYY to much on my plate right now with two books that just launched, two blog tours, and my teaching.
ReplyDeleteMy plate is always too full. I'm wishing you sanity and the most epic blog tour ever! I love the premise for Because You Exist.
ReplyDeleteUnleashing the Dreamworld
I often feel overwhelmed by too much.
ReplyDeleteGreat cover for Tiffany!
So excited for you about the release of your latest book. Yeah!
ReplyDeleteI don't think you are the only one waiting for Thanksgiving break! I know I am waiting for a little extra time off. :)
Because You Exist has a beautiful cover!

Wonderful cover!
ReplyDeleteAugust to a few weeks ago I felt like I had a crazy back-to-school schedule, but it's slowed down. I love November, because of the holidays and a planning day. The burden eases somewhat.
Very interesting information that you have provided, I really really enjoyed the article you have written this.
