And if you feel like pre-ordering a paperback copy of Colors Like Memories, check it out here :) (Gotta get a plug in sometimes, don't hate me!)
So, I mentioned last week sometime about the road trip my BFF and I were going to take, and wow did we have an awesome time! LOTS of time in car, and lots of amazing picture places. Here are a few of my favorites. (I'm still learning how to blend bracketed shots in photoshop, or a plug-in--still don't know what works best--to get the high-contrast shots I want. So, yeah, these are all just touched up a little in Lightroom if anyone's curious about that kind of thing!)
Geyser at Yellowstone. |
One of the little cabins at the Tetons. |
Bathroom, anyone? |
Tetons at sunset. Doesn't do them justice, but is still pretty :) |
Daytime barns :) I've wanted to photograph these for YEARS, so it was an awesome treat to finally get to them :) |
I just liked this one :) |
Totally didn't fudge the colors here--this thistle really was this bright! |
Waterlilies on Lake Isa in Yellowstone. Cool thing about this lake? It sits right on the Continental Divide and therefore drains into both the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans! |
The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. So incredible. Even more incredible? Nabbing a shot without tourists in it! |
I never add shots of myself if I can at all help it, but sometimes I get a good one (well, hubby did) and might as well :) |
Love the pictures from your trip! I hope to go see the Tetons one of these days
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome to come visit and we'll go! :)

ReplyDeleteThanks!! It was a lot of fun :)
DeleteWow, some of those shots are incredible! I love the thistle! But the water lilies are amazing! I can't pick my favorite, but I know I want to go on the next road trip, too!!
ReplyDeleteMichelle :)
Thanks!! Any time you want to head to Montana, there's some awesome parks nearby :)
DeleteGreat pictures! And yay for including a pic of yourself. I love getting to "see" people I talk to on blogs. :)
ReplyDeleteI was really hesitant to include my own photo, but I like to know who I'm talking to, too :)

ReplyDeleteThanks, JRo! :)
DeleteLoving the pic of you by the waterfall! :-)
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks :) I'm glad I posted it now!
DeleteGreat pics! I especially like the pictures of the barns. I don't know why I'm so drawn to barns... especially old leaners with a lot of character... but I am. Cool tidbit about Lake Isa, too.
ReplyDeleteAnd you, of course, look absolutely lovely. Even prettier than the thistle.
I love barns, too! I have so many shots of them, it's not even funny :) Someday I'm going to take a week or so and go out and just photograph as many as I can find--they just have so much character!
DeleteI am so jealous of your trip! It looks like a gorgeous place to be.
ReplyDeleteAnd you look FABULOUS in that picture :)
It was some amazing sights! And thanks!! :)
DeletePretty thistle. I love mountains, but I don't know about using an outhouse. Thanks for sharing this with us.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm not sure about that outhouse either :) No thanks!!

ReplyDeleteIt's been much too long since I've been in that part of the continent.
It is definitely quite a pretty spot! :)
DeleteI have never done much traveling in the west (I have been to California and Lake Tahoe, but that is it. Both were amazing for a two week vacation). These photos are gorgeous and make me want to travel and see more sights! Thanks for sharing. Glad you had a good trip!
ReplyDeleteJess
I haven't done much traveling in the east, so I guess we balance each other out :) (Love, love, love Tahoe!)
