Just for fun, a few random shots from my time back home in Cali. Can I just say I miss it here--badly? It's been incredibly nice catching up with family, friends, and enjoying the summer. I hope everyone had a great weekend, father's day, and that this week is an excellent one!
The creepy haunted house from Midtown Sacramento. It just screams "write a story about me", doesn't it? |
Wherein I wish I had photo editing software handy so you could better see Niels' funny lips as he tries to eat the entire mulberry tree. |
Isn't he a cutie? Also, he loves oak trees. I love taking him for walks in the arboretum, because I can imagine it's like an international buffet for him :) |
I thought the first picture really was YOUR home, until I read the caption. lol
ReplyDeletelol!! Oh, thank heavens it's not :) My family home isn't quite that creepy. I'd share a pic, but my mom would probably kill me!
DeleteI wish I could post a picture of O.D. Goat for you (Odiferous Dang) - he's not my favorite, however, as he's become a grumpy old goat and rears up and tries to butt us (though he has no horns like yours) He's an Alpine/Oberhausli cross so is hip high.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely share one if you can! I'd love to see him :) What a name! Niels is a pygmy/boer cross, and not quite that big. And thankfully not that ornery. We've had bucks in the past who were though--one who just would not stop bucking. Used to drive us crazy!
DeleteVery cool pictures. That house is awesome. Love all the wild pets!
ReplyDeletePicking a favorite pet is hard, but since I just had a great show this weekend, right now I'll go with my mare, Maybelline. :)
I love your mare's name!! Reminds me of the mane memes I've seen around--have you seen those? :)
DeleteCan I just say I'm super excited that you're sharing goat pics with us today! I heard all about them on Twitter so to get to see cute little Niels's furry face is such a treat :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got to see him--he's a total cutie! :)
DeleteLove this post!! Ooh that house... yep, it deserves a story. I want a goat pet too... and Niel Bohr is an awesome name! :)
ReplyDeleteGoats make great pets! :) And I think hubby and I have named every pet we've had after some scientist or other--it's our inner nerds unable to help it!
Deleteat first glance I thought that was your house too! haha. That's so much fun to get to go back and visit everyone. Love it! I love birds and someday I'd like to have an outdoor aviary, that'd be fun. I also want a teacup yorkie.
ReplyDeletelol, I'm seriously glad that's not my house! Though it would be really awesome to fix up, and I love it's location :) An aviary would be awesome, and teacup yorkies are just adorable!
DeleteLove it! I wish I had pets like that wandering around...
ReplyDeleteThat haunted house is deliciously mysterious looking.
They definitely are fun to have wandering around (though sometimes they scare the crud out of me!).
DeleteThanks for sharing these fun photos! I agree about the creepy mansion picture. The pets are so cool! I have always been fascinated by goats and have wanted a miniature goat for a long time (my favorite exhibit at fairs). So glad your visit is so wonderful. :)
ReplyDeleteMy visit has been wonderful! And aren't those little pygmy goats adorable? We have two and I just love them!
DeleteFollowed your trip on Twitter!! So glad you got to spend time with your family! <3
ReplyDeleteIt was awesome! :)
DeleteYes, that is just right for a haunted house. And that emu looks like he's up to something...
ReplyDeleteHe was--looking for food mostly, but also some mischief :)
